When Karen asked me to contribute to this topic, I immediately thought of one commonly discounted/overlooked area where a developed product bring great value:  providing "baked in" process and technical knowledge.

In-house development and process teams generally have a great understanding of their internal processes and technology.  What they sometimes lack; however, is a clear picture of similar processes underway and how similar challenges have been solved within other industries or with newer technologies.  They may be unaware that technical solutions are available for their challenges, and they're sometimes even unaware that they're doing parts of the process in an inefficient or outdated manner.

FieldPro has evolved from a specialized tool covering one particular business situation to a multi-faceted operations platform.  We're highly incentivized to continue adding features and evolve the technology platform in order to create a compelling experience and optimize ease of use and product value.  Features like ad hoc reporting, ancillary forms, intelligent job wizards, job procedures, GPS, and RFID have all been added through new releases to join the already extensive feature set of the original FieldPro. Sometimes companies do not even realize that these capabilities exist or that they have an internal need for them.  We're often given a customer RFP and, after giving them a FieldPro demo, had them revise their RFP immediately to cover the added capabilities that were available and desirable.

By engaging LiquidFrameworks you're also taking advantage of the fact that we internally leverage knowledge and skills.  Unlike an in-house development team, a software firm typically engages with a wide variety of industries - LiquidFrameworks is no exception.  Through the years of experience and multiple engagements, we've learned our own set of lessons of what works and what doesn't, both from technical, operational, and business viewpoints and can apply lessons from one industry to another.  Our employees have worked in Aerospace, Chemical, Banking, Manufacturing, Industrial Services, and Energy industries, and we’re often able to apply techniques from one arena to the other.  For example, lessons and techniques learned from developing procedures for the Space program were applied to our procedure execution capabilities within FieldPro.

We also constantly survey the available technology and best processes available for our product development.  LiquidFrameworks again uses the best platforms and toolkits (some developed and only available in-house) in developing FieldPro.   Through our years of experience with FieldPro and the challenge of field operations management, we're also constantly learning, refining, and applying these techniques and tools.  Contrast an in-house team that may be building a solution for this challenge for the first time or as a one-off project with FieldPro, currently in its third major release with new features being added and many more on our roadmap.

I hope I've given you some insight into how FieldPro really lets you leverage knowledge into a compelling solution.  If you'd like to learn more or discuss, please contact us for a demonstration of FieldPro and a discussion of your companies particular challenges.
