Blog Intro
Hi! I wanted to start my contributions to this blog by talking about who I am and some personal goals for this blog.
I'm a Technical Manager with LiquidFrameworks in Houston, Texas. That means I'm involved in every aspect of the company from pre-sales support through project completion, but especially the design and delivery phases. I've been privileged to work for a diverse set of companies in the aerospace, chemical, financial, and especially oil and gas industries over the last 15 years, and I’ve followed what I consider a pretty normal career progression from developer to architect/manager. After 15 years of being involved in IT from the customer viewpoint I've hopped the fence for the first time to work with a consulting/product company, so I hope that I can bring some interesting perspectives from years of being involved with "typical" corporate problems and share as I learn about tackling problems from a different viewpoint.
Look for posts from me about approaches to tackling typical business problems and the pitfalls I encounter as well as blogging about technologies and devices. I mostly plan on talking about things like methodologies that I find useful, tools, hosted applications, product development, collaboration, business process management, SharePoint, CRM, integration, custom applications, and others - pretty much the gamut of items that I encounter on a day-to-day basis.
I'm also a big fan of our amazing development team, and hope to share some of the innovative solutions that I see these guys come up with every day. When they do something neat, figure out a headscratcher, or just come up with a nifty timesaver, I'll try to share those where it doesn't interfere with our deliveries (and of course, customer IP).
Hopefully this blog will be a real contributor to the community (especially in our specialties such as .Net, SharePoint, and BPM) and also in the intersection of IT and field operations. Feel free to contact me (email preferably) if you have a specific question or topic that you'd like addressed, and I will definitely try and address it, and please share any knowledge you have on any of the topics on the blog in the interest of sharing this with the entire community.
