Senior Quality Assurance Analyst

FieldFX allows companies to manage contracts, quotes, equipment, jobs and field tickets along with customer-specific electronic forms such as safety incidents, inspections and other operational data reports.  All of the work done in the field can be completed with or without a network connection thereby allowing the user to collect and report data accurately in remote parts of the world.

Our mission is to be the de-facto standard for field force automation in the energy industry, and we are well on our way with our FieldFX product suite.  The engineering team of which you would be a member works to create a highly configurable product that can be delivered very quickly and present an amazing experience for new customers.

As a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst you will work directly with the product development team that develops our product employing Agile development methodologies. The Software QA Analyst participates in the entire life cycle of product development with the goal to improve code coverage and reduce test cycles through the use of test automation technologies.  You will be the final gate in the process to ensure that our customers receive the highest quality product.

Position Responsibilities

Management and Communication of testing effort

  • Assist in the design of the testing effort ensuring comprehensive coverage
  • Effectively communicate with project leaders regarding the scope and limits of testing and analysis efforts
  • Communicate and document testing efforts and technical aspects of projects

Analyze Business Requirements

  • Assess compatibility of requirements with company quality standards
  • Help ensure the consistency, completeness, accuracy and testability of product requirements
  • Develop detailed acceptance requirements for use stories

Test Planning

  • Design, develop, organize and maintain accurate and concise test plans as well as automated and manual test cases
  • Understand the full system under design in order to contribute to the development of the project and ensure the quality of the result
  • Identify potential risks and seek testing approaches to manage that risk

Software Testing

  • Develop, implement and maintain test scripts for our HTML5 Mobile application along with our component built on the Salesforce1 Platform
  • Execute test cases for the following types of testing: Functional, Regression, Performance, Load, Integration, System, GUI and Install along with Database Validation
  • Analyze defects so that they are isolated and reproducible
  • Clearly document issues and bugs
  • Work closely with developers in debugging and fixing defects
  • Work closely with developers in monitoring system issues

 

Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

 

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a QA
  • Experience with Salesforce1 is a significant plus
  • Experience writing detailed, comprehensive test plans and test cases
  • Experience with web automation and load testing tools
  • Experience with testing full systems, in addition to knowledge of Change Control and Build Acceptance
  • Experience configuring environments for testing using virtual machines
  • Experience in production support processes
  • Experience testing commercial, enterprise software
  • Proven problem solving and troubleshooting/diagnostic skill and the capacity to think creatively under pressure
  • Knowledge of database designs and writing SQL queries
  • Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
  • Ability to learn quickly in a fast changing environment

This position is located in Houston, TX.  The successful candidate must reside in the Houston area.  Travel is not required for this position.
